Me Lead actress and co-producer Hello everyone. Let me introduce you to our wonderful film to be - WOMAN IN CAR. I am in love with this project and hope you will love it too. I am hoping you will love it so much that you may be inspired to be a part of our fundraiser in order to get this film made! This is truly a passion project for me and one that I have been working on for a long time now. We have been through a lot of challenges in trying to get it made but we are almost there.
Without your help we may not be able to get it completed so we hope that we are offering you enough fun ways to be involved that you may be inspired to become a part of the project and its ultimate success. Many of you may know me from my of role on MURDOCH MYSTERIES and I have to first thank you for all of the support and love you have shown for me over the years playing Julia. She is a blessing as is the show and my many other projects I am now excited to share with you this new one.
WOMAN IN CAR. is a feature film set in Montreal Canada and written and to be directed by Vanya Rose-Kuhrt. I will be starring in the lead role of Anne. I first got involved with the project when I met Vanya for the first time about eight years ago. I wasnt sure why she had picked me out of the many actresses available who could play this role but I have since come to understand that Vanya works in a very intuitive way when it comes to her writing and the creation of her characters and ultimately her casting. All I can say is Im very happy that she was so drawn to me.
Her very pure creative instinct is ultimately what makes Vanyas work so beautiful and her vision so specific. When I read her script I was blown away and of course said yes to playing Anne. Its easy as an actor to sit back and wait for projects to come to you but what Ive discovered is how much more exciting it is to be a part of making them happen. Vanyas vision for this film is amazing. She has a true auteurs sensibility when it comes to shooting and I know this film will be a stunning and powerfully visual piece. I find this film provocative and incredibly timely.
I for one want to see more films about women. About womens journeys their challenges their chaos their beauty. Women who are deep and flawed and hurt and are hurtful who are real and working to survive this thing called life. Characters who are ultimately fighting for their freedom and happiness in this world. As an actor it is a role that has no limit in its depth and breadth and I cant wait to play her.
