Horror Movie Villains Mortal Kombat Hasnt Used Yet For MK12 Cameos

With plenty of details about Mortal Kombat 12 yet to be confirmed the developers may want to consider adding another horror icon to the series. Mortal Kombat has gathered a reputation for highquality guest characters and at this point it is almost expected for a new game to include more. Fortunately there are still plenty of viable options.

Mortal Kombats recent games have made a habit of including their guest characters as DLC. While 80s icons such as Rambo and The Terminator have appeared in past titles the most famous guest characters are likely the horror crossovers. Several iconic horror villains have managed to fit perfectly into the Mortal Kombat universe. Jason Freddy a Xenomorph the Predator and Leatherface have all graced the series with their presence  to mostly great effect. These collaborations added fun new possibilities and silly introductory cutscenes and with no upcoming news about Mortal Kombat 12 theorizing about the next roster is all most fans can do for the moment.

There are a lot of horror characters who would feel right at home in the world of Mortal Kombat 12. Whether at their original power levels or amplified to match the rest of the MK cast the horror world has a lot to offer. There are a few characters in particular who could potentially be perfect additions to Mortal Kombat 12s roster if chosen by the developers.

Michael Myers Is An Ideal Horror Icon For MK12s Roster

Michael Myers of the Halloween franchise is one of the original slasher movie icons. His staring white mask is as synonymous with horror as Jason Vorhees hockey mask and his reputation is just as strong. Myers legacy in the horror genre is so strong that he was Dead by Daylights first guest character. Myers already has history in video games giving even more reason as to why he would be an excellent choice for Mortal Kombat 12.

Admittedly the most difficult part of bringing Michael into Mortal Kombat may be differentiating him from fellow silent masked slasher Jason. However Myers has plenty of distinguishing features of his own. While Jasons moveset involved his machete and undead nature Myers has his knife and slow deliberate movements. In addition while Jason is an extraordinarily strong undead Michaels supernatural toughness comes simply from being pure evil. His gameplay could even be affected by this making him one of the games slowest characters but giving him punishing attacks and combos in return.

With so many famous slasher villains already making cameos in Mortal Kombat its almost a shame that Michael hasnt shown up yet. Michael would be an even better choice than Cole Young in Mortal Kombat 12 owing to his wellestablished brutal nature. With his penchant for brutality and nononsense approach to killing he would fit the violent world of MK12 perfectly.

Ghostface Could Be Mortal Kombats Funniest Horror Fighter

Ghostface of the Scream franchise is another slasher villain with an instantly recognizable mask. Ghostface is a bit of an oddity for a horror villain in that no two films have featured the same Ghostface and sometimes there is more than one. This means that a Mortal Kombat 12 version of Ghost face could be an entirely new character wearing the costume. This provides Ghostface with more creative potential than most guest characters.

Ghost face is most famous for being a knifewielding killer. However the Scream movies have their basis in horrorcomedy and Ghostface is not always portrayed as completely competent even prone to getting tripped up by their own costume. Mortal Kombats peaceful and amusing friendships show that the series has a comedic side and Ghost face could play into that. An aggressive rush down playstyle would be fitting for Ghost faces typically lithe frame compared to most famous slashers. In addition some darkly humorous quotes and fatalities would be perfectly in line for the character.

Even though the mask may be more famous than the character there is no questioning that Ghost face is a horror icon. By putting one of the most memorable faces of horror in Mortal Kombat 12 the series proud tradition of excellent guest characters would continue. In addition the ambiguity of Ghost faces identity will give the developers and opportunity to get innovative.

Frankensteins Monster Can Bring Classic Horror To MK12

Although Mortal Kombat has undoubtedly been successful with its guest fighters it has yet to achieve its full potential in that regard. In addition to slashers like Jason Mortal Kombat 11 included Joker and The Terminator among other guest fighters. There is one realm that the series has yet to pull from that could produce excellent guest characters and that is classical horror such as Frankensteins Monster.

Frankensteins Monster is one of the more famous classic monsters while interestingly being one of the least traditionally evil. It is more likely to be portrayed as confused and afraid albeit with the ability to be terribly destructive. This could be woven into the monsters actions ingame lashing out out of fear rather than deliberately fighting. This could make the monster more tragic than figures like Freddy and Leatherface. In terms of gameplay the Monster would be a slow lumbering fighter who could do incredible damage with its attacks and possibly have some form of super armor to make up for its lack of speed.

An icon of classic horror may sound like an odd choice for a Mortal Kombat guest fighter but it has plenty of potential to work. It would not be unfair to think that Frankensteins Monster could get wrapped up in the next iteration of the MK universe. Besides it could make for a rather unique type of fighter which the series could always benefit from.

Mortal Kombat has enjoyed a good relationship with the horror genre and it has been beneficial for the games. By adding more horror icons the series can grow its audience in addition to adding new characters to its roster. Once Mortal Kombat 12 comes out the roster may well be graced by one more famous figure from the world of horror  and they could give players some even more ridiculous endings than the ones below
