The Derry Girls actor first attempted to dismiss the question by joking that she was 117. As the audience laughed Ryan persisted and again asked Jamie Lee how old she was.
It was at this point that things took a very awkward turn as the first guest of the evening said that she found the question to be very misogynistic. Ryan immediately insisted that he would have indeed asked the same question to a man and also stated that he asked simply due to the nature of her Derry Girls character - a schoolgirl. However the tension did not leave the studio and Ryan had to awkwardly segway to another avenue of conversation.
